Shanghai Industrial Design Association (SIDA), whose predecessor was the Shanghai Industrial Design Promotion Association was founded in March, 1993. SIDA, together with enterprises or industrial design staffs involved in the product design industry have voluntarily compose a multi-industry, professional and non-profit social organization. The Shanghai Municipal Economic Committee is in charge of the organization.

Shanghai Creative Industry Center was established on November 6th, 2004 and began to function on April 28th, 2005. Established with the approval of the Economic Commission of Shanghai Municipal Government and the Shanghai Municipal Administration of Social Organizations, Shanghai Creative industry center is a specialized organization in promoting the development of Shanghai’s creative industries. The center’s mission is to coordinate resources, formulate development targets and strategies, strengthen the guidance, construct a platform, promote the assembly, and establish a system, thus gradually forming a modern industry structure supported by the individual creative industry enterprises and clusters on the platform of “Shanghai Centre of Creative Industry”, and driving the overall development of Shanghai creative industry.

Billwang was established in September 2000 which was a Internet communication platform based on industrial design as the core of the creative design industry. Website now has 35 million designers as their members. Membership covers the mainland, Taiwan and foreign-related institutions, students, teachers, business executives and well-known practitioners of industrial design

CHNdesign was founded in 1999 and has grown as one of the most influential interactive design media in China, covering the services of excellent portfolio, articles, design human resources and so on. As a portal design website, CHNdesign has attracted more than130,000 registered member and 1000 online exhibition halls for company and designers.

China Design Network was founded in the late of 1998, the first network service providers. After ten years of exploration and development, a clear model, rich content, strong competitiveness of the website is completely set up. Dutch Design Workspace was established in 2010. It is supported by Dutch Design Fashion Architecture (DutchDFA). This economic support programme is a unique collaboration between public and private partners. It involves the Dutch ministries of Foreign Affairs, Economic Affairs and Education, Culture & Science and Dutch sector Institutes from the creative industry field. The Dutch Design Workspace aims to offer a soft landing for Dutch Design brands in China by supporting them with shared office space in the centre of Shanghai and a special team that will develop the support based on the business planning of each participant.

UPA China (Usability Professionals’ Association China) was established in April 18, 2004 as the China chapter of the UPA. As the first non profit organization of User eXperience, we are committed to creating a platform for leading user experience development in China.

Creative Industry Expo Shanghai 2011 (CIE) , one of the biggest design show in Shanghai, will be held from Oct. 26 to Nov. 1st at Shanghai Mart with nearly 18800 square metres exhibition space. The Australian Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai (AustCham Shanghai) strengthens Australia-China business, government and community relationships and promotes Australia as a creative and reliable provider of high-quality business solutions.Highly active, the Chamber has gained more than 160,000 website page views and hosted more than 100 China-centric business and marketing events since January 2011.It has six active industry committees for specific groups of membership interest, regularly hosts high-level guest speakers and its membership base includes more than 370 companies and individuals doing business in China.
